Waldinger used the engineer's schematic design to create 3D models and plan view drawings for this state-of-the-art 180,000 square-foot facility in El Dorado, Kansas which has over six miles of process piping and includes over a mile of piggable systems. We installed petrochemical piping along with HVAC and plumbing piping. The facility can now package its products in containers ranging from one ounce to railroad tanker cars with very little human intervention.

Haymarket District

Industrial

This energy plant for the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska is also capable of providing heating and cooling services to other buildings in the Haymarket area. The major equipment consists of chillers, cooling towers, boilers, pumps and an emergency generator. The Waldinger Corporation created a Building Information Model (BIM) that allowed trades to coordinate installation of all systems. Prior to construction, we conducted an owner model review to confirm accessibility and serviceability of equipment. Finally, the model aided in prefabricating piping assemblies and even hangers for this project.

Kellogg's

Industrial

Kellogg's has been a major customer since we began working with them in the 1950's at their original plant. When Kellogg's moved to its current facility in 1963, we were responsible for installing the roof and have been onsite ever since with an average of 10 to 12 men working full-time at that facility. Waldinger fabricates and installs approximately 65,000 pounds of stainless steel for Kellogg's each year! We have also done fabrication and installation work for the Battle Creek, Michigan and Lancaster, Pennsylvania plants and fabrication for the California plant.

Mars Chocolate

Industrial

This candy manufacturing plant was on a fast-track schedule from day one. The Waldinger Corporation came on board in January of 2013 and had on-time substantial completion by January of 2014 with production beginning the next month. A key to our success was the fabrication quality BIM model that allowed us to prefabricate major mechanical system components in our Wichita, Omaha and Des Moines fabrication shops and deliver them to the jobsite. By moving a large portion of the labor offsite we were able to substantially reduce our onsite crew size in a tight labor market. The LEED certified silver project had a great deal of welded stainless steel fabrication, multiple dust collection systems and miles of pipe, including food-grade stainless steel piping.
