Jacob Wheaton

Jacob Wheaton, Acquisition

I began working for a company Waldinger eventually acquired (Ray Omo Inc.) in 2001. Directly out of tech school, I thought that I knew everything there was to know about the HVAC/plumbing industry. I was wrong. I learned SO much being out in the field and working with veterans of the industry.

In August of 2016, the owners that I had worked for and with decided it was time to “hang up the cleats.”  That’s when The Waldinger Corporation stepped in. Sure, there were a TON of questions, a TON of what if’s, but also a TON of excitement. This was a company that had a vision. That vision is to grow and maintain quality employees along with quality customers. It’s a vision we shared. I met with and spoke to several people in the Waldinger world, and was very welcomed by, and impressed with, each one of them. They all took whatever time was needed to ensure all of my, as well as my techs’, questioned were answered.

This is the first acquisition I’ve been a part of so I didn’t really know what to expect as far as the transition but many of the items I assumed would be stumbling blocks simply weren’t. I chalk this up to dealing with smart, competent and friendly people. This really does feel like a family run company.

The most exciting element of becoming a member of the Waldinger family is the opportunity we now have. So again, in August of 2016, just before the acquisition, I thought that I knew everything there was to know about the HVAC/plumbing industry. I was wrong again! As leaders in the industry, The Waldinger Corporation has given me new vigor and excitement about my work, along with the tools I need to continue growing in the job I love. –Jacob Wheaton, Operations Manager
